Dr. Julie Mina is currently a Chief Resident in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, where she oversees resident didactics and education. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago, where she distinguished herself with honors in Bioethics and Professionalism. Dr. Mina completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Cornell University, where she excelled as a four-year Division 1 rugby player. Prior to medical school, Dr. Mina conducted research at the Cardiovascular Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and collaborated with the Broad Institute at MIT on Bayer Pharmaceutical funded research projects focusing on potential medication interventions in atrial fibrillation.
Dr. Mina is currently interviewing for Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship positions across the United States. Her research interests encompass critical areas within women's health, including barriers to healthcare access in the United States, the impact of obesity on pregnancy outcomes, various methods of labor induction, and strategies for enhancing graduate medical education. Dr. Mina's unwavering dedication to advancing these fields underscores her commitment to improving patient care and medical education.
