Valentina is a PhD fellow working with Lina Bergman at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, Salhgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Tübingen in Germany, where she studied Molecular Medicine.
In her PhD project, Valentina focuses on pre-clinical and clinical studies of cerebral complications in preeclampsia. Cerebral complications secondary to preeclampsia are among the most common causes to direct maternal mortality, yet their causes are not fully elucidated. Valentina studies neuroinflammatory and neurovascular mechanisms in both pre-clinical and clinical settings.
