Dr. Hamutal Meiri, PhD, MBA (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2272-5139)
Dr. Hamutal Meiri gained her PhD in Neurobiology (1979) and a MBA from Tel Aviv University (1995). She was a Faculty Member in The Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University (1982-1984), at Technion Faculty of Medicine (1984-1989) and at NYU Faculty of Medicine (1989-1991) and reached the level of Associated Professor
Her research in 1974-1990 focused mainly on neural development and regeneration, and she published >45 [eer review publications and won prestguous competitive grants and research prizes.
Between 1991-1995 she was appointed the Director of the National Committee of Biotechnology, responsible tp funnel national resources to the filed, set priorities and assit in creating start ups and industrial-academic cooperation
From 1995-2000 she served as the director of North Carolina- Israel Science, Technology and Culture Fund. dcusing on Biotechnology Microelectronic, information Technology and Social Studies, funding ~ $ 40 M for research and Technology bi-national project, $6M through BSF .
From 2001-2011 she became the CEO and Director of Diagnostic Technologies Ltd, which grew out of Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.
The company brought to the market certain diagnostics of prenatal complications. I
In 2011 the company was acquired by Hy-Laboratories Ltd, and since then she acts as the company liaison for funded research nationally and internationally. In this capacity she led the company to winning the tender for establishing ALAGENE, the National Institute for Synthetic Biology, where she serve as the company liaison to the Israeli Research and Innovation Authorities .
Dr. Meiri was the Coordinator of the European consortium Pregenesys (2006-2010), and the Exploitation Manager of the ASPRE Consortium (2013-2016). She currently leads with Professor Maymon the Pretwin Screen Consortium (2020-2024) which funds the research summarized in this presentation.
Dr. Meiri has >120 peer review publications in fetal medicine.
