Montse Palacio is the coordinator of the Prematurity line at BCNatal-FMRC. She obtained her medical degree (1988) and PhD (1995) in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Barcelona, respectively. She also holds a specialty in Gynecology/Obstetrics, with a year of subspecialization in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at University College London and a postgraduate degree (2015) in Public Health from Pompeu Fabra University.
She is the author of more than 70 articles in maternal-fetal medicine and an associate professor at the University of Barcelona. She has extensive experience in clinical research, particularly in the field of prematurity. She is an affiliated member of the Center for Biomedical Research on Rare Diseases (CIBERER) and an accredited researcher by IDIBAPS.
Clinically, she is a senior consultant in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service at Hospital Clínic, where she has been a permanent member of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Service specialist team since 2001. Currently, she holds the position of Head of the High-Risk Obstetrics Section.
