Midwife PhD Student
University Hospital Rennes, France
I'm Marion MONPERRUS, Midwife PhD Student at Rennes University Hospital. As well as my clinical work, I have obtained a Master 2 in Public Health and I am currently in the 2nd year of a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Rennes, attached to the Clinical Investigation Centre at Rennes University Hospital.
I'm very interested in women's health as it links in with maieutics, and in the various approaches that can be used to improve perinatal health outcomes. My research focuses on the care and support of physiological pregnancies in France and the impact of this care on pregnancy outcomes.
I am involved in research, setting up and coordinating research projects related to this subject, for which I have received several funding grants: PhysioCare ("Personalized Support Care in Alongside Alternative Midwifery Birth Units versus Standard Obstetric Units in France: Effects on Perinatal Maternal and Child Health Outcomes". Fundings: Institut pour la Recherche en Santé Publique (IReSP), 2020) and PhysioCareTwo ("Personalized support care in alongside alternative midwifery birth units versus standard obstetric units in France: impact on couples' mental health and mother child health outcomes at age 2". Fundings: DGOS-PREPS (Direction générale de l'Offre de soins - Programme de recherche sur la performance du système des soins) and IReSP, 2024)
I am also involved in primary prevention through my work as a medical consultant at the PRE²B center (Prévention des Risques Environnementaux et REproduction en Bretagne), where I provide prevention consultations on environmental exposure for couples being monitored for infertility at the CHU de Rennes medical assistance centre for procreation.
