My name is Helena Grobecker, PhD student, MD, specialist in obstetrics and gynecology since 2013, senior consultant and lead obstetrician in the postnatal and elective cesarean section ward, department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Danderyd hospital, Stockholm, Sweden.
As a part of my PhD studies, about postpartum hemorrhage and cesarean deliveries at the department of clinical sciences Karolinska Institutet Danderyd Hospital, I am conducting the study “Safety of aortic compression in elective cesarean delivery to prevent excessive blood loss – a pilot randomized trial”. This pilot trial is a part of the on-going Aortic Compression Trial (ACT), a randomized controlled trial to reduce blood loss in cesarean delivery.
Danderyds Hospital has approximately 700 elective cesarean deliveries annually out of a total of 6000 births and is the third largest delivery ward in Sweden.
