Heather Anne Walker, MSc Epidemiology, works at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in Canada. She works on the OMNI (Obstetrics & Maternal Newborn Investigations) research team as a Clinical Research Associate. The team focuses on researching the social, cultural, economic, environmental and biological factors of diseases in pregnancy, infancy, and childhood. Heather completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the Université de Montréal, focusing on programming and data-analysis. She worked as a Research Coordinator and gained experience and proficiency in various modeling techniques, including time series analysis, generalized additive mixed models, DLNM (Distributed Lag Non-linear Models), spatio-temporal modeling, and a range of machine learning approaches. She has experience as a statistical programmer in pharmaceutical research. Now, Heather is happy to be part of the OMNI group, where she applies her expertise in study design, statistics, and data analysis to contribute to clinical research in the field of maternal-child health.
