University of Wisconsin Madison
My name is Carrie Sibbald; I am a fourth year MD ob/gyn resident at the University of Wisconsin, Madison currently applying to MFM fellowships. I grew up in the bay area of California and moved to the Midwest for college when I attended Grinnell College in Iowa. After college, I spent two years working in a molecular biochemistry and biophysics lab at Washington University in St. Louis and stayed in Missouri for medical school at Wash U. I have always had an interest in global health and fell in love with ultrasound and maternal care while performing a summer research project in Ecuador during my first year of medical school. I have continued this interest in residency and am part of the Global Health Track for the ob/gyn residents at the University of Wisconsin. My research interests during residency have included pregnancy health for patients who utilize interpreters, postpartum hemorrhage during cesarean, postoperative racial disparities in pain management, and vasa previa.
In my free time, I enjoy running, cycling, swimming, hiking and backpacking, traveling, bird watching with my husband, and cuddling my two cats.
